The Gods abandoned me
‘Cause I abandoned myself
Bit by bit, mile by mile
From center stage to rank and file
The lights have dimmed
And the actors have bowed
The banquet years are gone
And the curtains are drawn

I took The Last Breath of a Bachelor
My inspiration’s past its expiration
And like a mouse pissing in cotton
I’ll go quietly, soon to be forgotten
I’ll take my last wish……and vanish

I ask for rest from this weariness
And my enemies disarmed
I know a man that lays with a Goddess
Rarely goes unharmed
I gave my heart for your body
And my body for your heart
From one mistake to another
From every kiss to a smother

I took The Last Breath of a Bachelor
My inspiration’s past its expiration
And like a mouse pissing in cotton
I’ll go quietly, soon to be forgotten
I’ll take my last wish……and vanish
  Last night I dreamt
That somebody loved me

I’m here in this labyrinth
And I don’t have a clue
No thread of Ariadne
To see me through
But the dinner bell rings
And the beast comes-a-callin’
The fat lady sings
And you can leave me as a tribute to the fallen
I took The Last Breath of a Bachelor
My inspiration’s past its expiration
And like a mouse pissing in cotton
I’ll go quietly, soon to be forgotten
I’ll take my last wish……and vanish
