Lonesome No More

That November night
We were stoking the Fahrenheit
I presented you with this plan:
May you be lonesome no more
And may I be your man

From the first kiss
Nothing could be better than this
I won’t let anything get in the way
May you be lonesome no more
And may our love be here to stay

But discord was loosed
When I became seduced
By an affair with the seven deadly sins
It was “anchors aweigh”
And I sailed astray
To that place where heartache begins

So these birds of a feather
Ended up lonelier together
That’s not the way it’s supposed to be
May you be lonesome no more
I let my faults get the better of me

Everything is wrong
But I’m trying to move along
I just don’t know where to start
My only love has flown
And now I’m on my own
In that foul rag and bone shop of my heart

I’m thinking of you
I’ll always love you
I’ve got a hole in my heart that stings
May you be lonesome no more
And may you find better things
