Fireworks

In the hiding twilight
Silent passion revealing
I don't care if you're wicked
Your wounds want healing

Rosebud mouth, alabastor hands

Languid fingers, tapering legs

Cream the milk and sugar

Whisk the whites of eggs

Leaning back for the fireworks (full view, high up)
    Candle bursts, streams of rain
Dewy stars fall soft and sweet
    I am not ashamed

There's a haunting sorrow
Written on your face
Dark and foreign eyes
Exposing all my deepest mysteries

Winsome, slight, and frail

We two naughty grace darling

Show me your next year in drawers

Make me do lovesticky

Leaning back for the fireworks . . .

Cut my hair on account of the moon
Floated, fell, and faded
I'll throw my cap at whomever I like
Thankful for small mercies

You think you're escaping

Then you run into yourself

The longest way around

Is the shortest way home

Leaning back for the fireworks (full view, high up)
    Candle bursts, streams of rain
Dewy stars fall soft and sweet
    I am not ashamed
